			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you haven&#8217;t been following the news, you may not know that solid state drives (SSDs) are becoming the next hot thing in storage. Your iPods have used these for a long time. But companies have developed enterprise-class drives that have substantially better MTBF (mean time between failure). Since a solid state drive doesn&#8217;t have spinning disk with spindles and drive heads inside like traditional ATA, SATA and Fibre Channel drives the seek time is much, much faster.</p>
<p>Well, the IT guys over at Samsung put together a video to showcase just how cool this really is. Check it out. After they build the machine, they put it through a series of performance tests. This has to be seen to be believed. Very cool.</p>
